When we first heard about “Dawan North and South Sections,”
we didn’t understand the meaning of the name. However, after much
research, we came to understand it. In Neihu, the Keelung River
Straightening Reconstruction project was implemented in two areas;
one was a curvier river, Dawan ’s Jintai and Jiouzong sections
and the other one was a less curvy river, in Siaowan’s Cheng Mei
Bridge and Nanhu Bridge sections. The “Dawan North and South Sections”
mean that these areas arose after the Straighten Reconstruction
project. |

Moreover, Dawan, actually, was the area in which Miramar Entertainment Park was located. Before the Miramar’s ferris wheel was built, except for the villas and Jihe Public Housings, there was just empty land. But after a while, the charm of the Miramar Entertainment Park district plus the development of Neihu Technology Park, brought dramatic change to the area. Much of the empty land had become parking lots or were under construction. We think the changes in this area are similar to the early situation of Neihu Technology Park. If you didn’t place much attention to it, after a while, you’d be amazed by the dramatic changes that had taken place. |
