LiteOn Technology Skyscraper is the highest, the most glorious,
and the firmest-looking building. It was our pleasure to visit Manager
He from LiteOn Technology Corporation. Every one was very excited.

Interview Content：
LiteOn Technology
Skyscraper is the headquarter as well as research development center
for LiteOn Company. The company moved to Neihu in June of 2003.
This is their second year there. Common Wealth Magazine reported
LiteOn Technology Skyscraper as having “five-star offices” and
as being the “the new landmark of Neihu Technology Park”. It was
a great honor.
LiteOn has many different kinds of products, usually called 3C
products, including the following:
1. Computers --- Computers
and related products, such as keyboards, screens, casings, etc.
2. Communications
--- Communication related products, such as cell phones, Internet
cards, etc.
3. Consumers --- Consumer electronics, such
as scanners, printers, digital cameras, etc.
Currently, the company has outlets in Zhonghe, Danshui (Tamsui),
Jilong (Keelung), Taoyuan, Sinjhu, and Jhongli. The company’s headquarter
in Neihu Technology Park is in charge of research, marketing, finance,
and administration. It’s for research and management, not production.
The
main reason that LiteOn Technology Corporation changed headquarter
locations was to combine sources, information, funds, and manpower.
Plus Neihu Technology Park was the only technology park in Taipei
City. Neihu Technology Park had many advantages that other places
don’t have, such as convenient traffic, the subway system in the
near future, lower coast of properties, the development of the business
area, a large employment pool, and safe communities. These were
all reasons that the company moved there.
Question 1：How many floors are there in LiteOn
Technology Skyscraper? And how many employees?
We are the highest building in Neihu Technology Park. The building
total has 23 floors and 1200 employees.
Question 2： Compared to LiteOn in other places,
what kinds of advantages does Neihu Technology Park have?
The biggest advantage of Neihu Technology Park is its employment
pool. Because Neihu is located in Taipei City and many people who
work in Taipei have high educational backgrounds, it more convenient
to find research employees here. Moreover, the living conditions
in an urban city like Taipei is incomparable. The traffic is convenient
in Neihu and in the future there will be subway systems. Plus, properties
are cheaper. These are all advantages.
Question 3：Are there any entertainment areas
for employees in the company?
Yes. Not only do
we have a gym and a dance room, but we also have several massage
chairs, each of them cost over ten thousands Taiwan dollars. What’s
more, you can also play golf in the company! We hire professional
body trainers and coaches to help everyone in the gym and dance
room. Every employee can be well taken care of. Therefore, our employees
have very good benefits.
Question 4：Is there a restaurant in the LiteOn
Technology Skyscraper for employees?
Yes. B1 is
the employee’s restaurant offering buffet and a set menu. There
is also a Herbal Café offering organic food on the first
floor, but not many employees eat there. Many people still prefer
eating outside.
Question 5：What percentage of employees take
special commuter cars to work?
Approximately 300
people (about 25%), in which the percentage of actually taking the
special commuter car is about 60%, it means that there are approximate
15％ of employees taking special commuter cars everyday. Our special
commuter cars go to Zhonghe, Mincyuansi Road, Nanjingdong Road,
Gongguan, Jhongli, Sinjhu, and Taoyuan. It’s convenient for employees
who live far away and also improves the traffic situation in Neihu
Technology Park.
Question 6：Why do we rarely see LiteOn products
outside?
Because our main business is Original
Equipment Manufacturing (OEM), many big international companies
like HP, IBM, and Compact are all our customers. If we established
our own brand, our customers would become foes and we would have
fewer customers. We are famous in the OEM field and we offer high
quality guarantees to all our customers.
Interview Insight：
Do you know what is
the highest building in Neihu Technology Park? The answer is LiteOn Technology
Skyscraper, which we also called Super Iron King Kong. Just thinking about
visiting the building could make us smile.
As we expected, it was very different inside. The
architecture was extremely beautiful and there are decoration artifacts and
glass interiors everywhere, it was very modern and comfortable. It was like
another world. There were 1200 employees in the building and everyone was busy.
The whole scene was like the NASA in the movies. It was very new and also
interesting to us.
