21years old Doris on board of the ship to Taiwan

　　In Taiwan, those who had ever worked hard on English definitely know English Classroom and its founder, Dr. Doris Brougham, a lady who had come all the way from America. Dr. Brougham has devoted herself to the English education of Taiwan since 1951, the year she stepped upon the soil of Taiwan and has lasted for more than 50 years. Beyond doubt, she is one of the great people who had helped to promote the globalization and connection of Taiwan to the world.

　　How much does the English education affect our education policy? The question popped up when we decided to take Dr. Brougham as the topic of our project. Currently, people who speak English account for one fourth of the population in the world. It is far more then the ones using English as a mother language. Therefore, before we introduce Dr. Brougham’s English classroom, the first chapter will be dedicated on the current English education in Taiwan’s elementary schools and high schools, and we also collected some magazines and related websites for readers’ reference.
