A 12-year-old girl who made a promise to God that she would help Chinese people, and with that promise in mind, Doris Brougham went to Shanghai at the age of 21. Because of the political unrest, she came to Taiwan via Hong Kong. She chose the eastern city of Taiwan, Hualiang, to live with the aboriginal people. And she used the music of her saxophone and trumpet to be closer to their lives. More than that, she managed to spread the love and Gospel of God to every corner of Taiwan.
　　Dr. Doris Brougham felt the effectiveness and method of Gospel spreading should undergo some changes, thus she founded the first music program, the Voice of Heavenly Melody on TV, and shared her devotion to God with her voice. During the past 60 years, she has successfully accomplished the mission God entrusted to her. The English teaching of ORTV and the beautiful voice from Heavenly Melody soothed the hearts of people both in Taiwan and overseas.
