The First Anti Cigarettes Organization in Taiwan

　　Director Lin Qing Li serves in anti cigarettes department of John Tung Foundation. she said “ John Tung Foundation is the first domestic anti cigarettes organization. John Tung Foundation aims at collecting relevant anti cigarette materials, investigating smoking survey, making to anti cigarette posters, and inviting everyone including celebrities to join and John Tung Foundation’s activities.
Say No to Cigarettes
　　In 1987, Taiwan government allowed foreign cigarettes’ import. The traders utilized various kinds of advertisements and propagandas to attract a lot of people to smoke cigarettes, especially causing more and more teenaged smokers. Everybody lacked the knowledge that cigarettes are harmful to health at that time. Uncle Sun and other lifetime volunteers started their campus tour which promoting the anti cigarette activities in the campus.

　　In 1997, anti cigarette regulation has been carried by legislation, which is under John Tung Foundation’s effort. The regulation has many restricts on cigarettes, for example, to tobacco venders and the smoking locations. People are also more aware of the negative parts of smoking cigarettes.
The legacy of welfare business
　　Since the smokers’ age is reducing, the spokesmen need to be younger as well. Many welfare organizations invite younger advertising spokesmen, such as pop stars. Director Lin said ' Uncle Sun was the one who came up with the idea of asking the young stars to be the spokesman of anti cigarettes! He hoped to attract more young generation with influence power involving in every public activity! '
