In 1954, Mr. Hsieh Kuo-Cherng represented Taiwan to map out the Asian Baseball League, and the Asia Cup baseball game was held at the same year. Unfortunately, Taiwan ended in the last place at that time; however, under the effort of Mr. Hsieh Kuo-Cherng, we got the right to hold this game on the following year. Yet, for not having one suitable place for the tournament in Taiwan, we had to give up the right to host the game. On the other hand, Mr. Hsieh Kuo-Cherng still negotiated to set up the Taipei baseball field and strived for the right to hold the Asia Cup in Taiwan regardless the budget limits. Finally, we got the right to host the 4th and the 8th Asia Cup under his efforts.
