We believe that the splendid history of the Little League in Taiwan is the common pride among our parents’ generation.
The baseball was forgotten by the public until last year, when Chien-Ming Wang set the record by winning 19 games in one single season. Wang established the best performance in the Asian pitchers in the Big League. His achievement made Taiwanese go crazy about baseball again.
From the history of the baseball, we can understand that there were still many people making every endeavor in promoting the baseball activities in Taiwan. Moreover, we got the chance to know the father of Little League in Taiwan, Mr. Hsieh Kuo-Cherng. After he passed away, his offspring built the Hsieh Kuo-Cherng baseball culture and education foundation to stick on his ideas—promoting baseball activities. Thus, we decided to go from this foundation, and understand Taiwan baseball history furthermore. |
