The subject of our project is baseball, which led me to read the book “Taiwan Baseball 100 Years” This book presented the details of baseball development in Taiwan, ranging from the ones people are familiar with to the ones that are not known to the outside world. Baseball, viewed as the national sport by most Taiwanese, is the spiritual inspirations and the fond memory. From Yakyu to the baseball today, it was the uncomplaining devotion of many to make so many brilliant stars shine in the field. From the Noko team’s adventure in Japan to Jiayi Agricultural School’s second place in Koshien, from Maple Leave’s win over Wakayama to the world championship of the Golden Dragons and the Triple Crowns. Baseball is the passion of Taiwan.

From baseball games, we can see the unwavering dedication of our players. Audiences are the most elements in a baseball game besides players and referees. They are the moral support of the players, who cheer the players on and on to more accomplishments.

Baseball has evolved for 100 years in Taiwan, thanks to the experts who wrote this book and who collected many important relics and documents to present to us and let us witness the complete phase of baseball development in Taiwan. Baseball has always played an important part in my life. It brings smiles to my face, and it brings tears to my eyes. It is the subject my friends and I talked about always. Baseball means a lot for me that it is hard for me to imagine a life without it. Though I got scolded for overly indulged in baseball sometimes, I still believe that baseball is the best kind of sport which strengthens your body, release your stress from school works. Looking at those great players in the baseball field, I look forward to adopting their attitude and spirit of sportsmanship in life and truly perfect my life.
