The pitcher’s mitt
The pitcher’s mitt

The pitcher’s mitt should be limited within specific sizes and colors, and the color of its sewing line, binding string, and nets should be the same but white or gray. Besides, it could not be put on anything with different colors.
The block part of the pitcher’s mitt is sealed and strong because the pitcher is the first one to face the strong hit of the balls. And the size of the mitt is bigger than other peoples’ because it would not that easy for other players to see his ball when he pitches, and relatively easy to stop other balls near him.

The catcher’s mitt

Since the catcher is the one getting most strong balls, his mitt should be the thickest one which can avoid any shocks. So the catcher’s mitt is usually heavier and with less flexibility.
The border of the catcher’s mitt can be hemmed to remind the pitcher.

Mitt of the first baseman

The first baseman is the “killer” of most base runners, so his mitt should be big enough to catch any fast balls. If the mitt is big and long, the player can catch a ball easily even it was passed poorly.

Mitts of the infielders

The second baseman and the shortstop are responsible for the double plays, so the block part of their mitts will be shallower than other people with a shape of “工”.

Mitts of the outfielders

The defending area for the outfielders is very wide, so their mitts are bigger but lighter. The block part of the mitt is double crossed; therefore, it is very convenient for them to catch a fly ball.
