Mr. Hsieh Kuo-Cherng found a little track and field place in the 228 memorial park right now, and he thought it could manage to be a baseball field, though there were little rocks on the surface and the space did not fit the standard, either. He has a unique kind of feeling toward that field. Playing on this field, the balls were easy to hit the streets or broke the windows of the Medical College of the Taiwan University. So Mr. Hsieh made a rule that if the balls hit a big tree would be called the triples or the home runs. And the balls in the auditorium were accounted to the triples. He once told that if Mr. Oh Sadaharu were in this place at that time, all his strikes would be home runs.
Mr. KCH considered the 228 Memorial Park Field as the cradle of the baseball, because during the years 1948 to 1960, many inportant games were held there, and audiences simply crammed the whole filed.
