Hua Xing on the Grass Mountain
　　On half way up of Mountain Yang Ming, Hua Hsing was an elementary with long history. More than 180 thousands of Da Chen Island people were retreated to Taiwan on 1955, and there were hundreds of orphans needed help then. Madame Chiang Kai-shek founded to adopt those orphans from Da Chen Island and military martyrs. At the first stage, it has an orphanage, kindergarten, and elementary school. In 1958, the junior high school department was founded, and the senior high division was established in 1969. The audience was broadened to general orphans, children of poor veterans, refugees from Northern Thailand and baseball players. The teaching and living equipment was updated gradually, and the living quality of students was raised year by year.

Enabling our students with the ability to connect to the world
　　Owing to the income of general people was elevated and the social welfare systems were revised, the amount of orphans became less and less. Therefore, the role of Hua Hsing had to change in order to cope with social changes. We recruited students at their own expenses from 2002, promoting whole person education, and develop “sunshine, health, intellectuality” as our specialties.

　　To look into the future world development trend, the English and Chinese equally emphasized bilingual world has rapidly formed. In this multiple society, it is necessary to use English to enter the world. Therefore, Hua Xhing elementary school is led by many professional English teachers, making students feel like living in a foreign land. The content of leaning is very interesting and abundant. To develop their listening, speaking, reading, and reading English ability, cultivate their learning interests and methods of English, enhance their knowledge toward international culture and customs, and build their ability to connect the world.
