¡@¡@Owing to our attending Global SchoolNet International Cyber Fair, we are granted with the opportunity to visit Studio Classroom. We interviewed the founder of Studio Classroom--Dr. Doris Brougham. She was a missionary, and preached in China. The civil war in mainland China forced her to flee to Taiwan. When she witnessed the scarcity of Taiwan, she decided to found Studio Classroom to help people learning English.
¡@¡@Though she is 82 years old now, she still plays an active part in the recording process of Studio Classroom magazine. She even let us see her new invention -- Cyber Village website which could not only save paper but also help protecting the environment. We can play online games while learning English at the same time. Learning English becomes lively and fun. |

¡@¡@We came to the Heavenly Melody Film and Television Center to see how they shoot and record programs. There were many intertwining cables on floor or ceilings, and expensive audio-visual equipment everywhere. Only with this kind of equipment could such good programs be created, and benefit all those who want to learn English. The old saying ¡§To do a good job, one must first sharpen one's tools¡¨does sum up the set up in the Heavenly Melody Film and Television Center. After that, we entered the post-production room which is full of computers. A lady was putting the music and subtitles for a roll of video tape. To see the piles of tapes nearby, I cannot help thinking how hard her works will be. At last, we went to Jungle cafe¡Xa virtual jungle cafe which will be used as a new recording setting this year. My idol ¡VBlack Pearl just finished her shoots, and we were lucky to have a picture with her. Through this visit, we understood the processes and labors in producing magazines. We really have to make good use of our Studio Classroom magazine to study English. |
