ˇ@ˇ@After our teacher took us to the Studio Classroom, we were interested in those recording equipment. The following pictures showed how curious we were to the recording equipment. Mother also tried to ask the functions of that equipment for us, and we found that if we used better computers and microphones in a quiet space the results were much better.

Learning the techniques of recording
ˇ@ˇ@On a sunny Sunday afternoon, we were in the classroom with fluttering hearts. After some animated discussions, we gradually regained our composure.

ˇ@ˇ@Our teacher asked us to recheck our own parts and practiced sentences that were easily erred. We then rehearsed once. The teacher found that our voice was not loud enough to be recorded, so she asked us to raise our voice and watch our modulation in tone. However, since it was the first time for any of us to talk to the cold and inhuman microphone, some of us made errors, some shook with nervousness, and some read like monks chanting. We simply couldnˇ¦t complete the recording with one go. We were a little discouraged at that time, but our teacher continuously cheered us up, and demonstrated the reading for us. She hoped that we could put in our feelings to the script and demonstrate a natural speaking circumstance.

ˇ@ˇ@But contrary to our hopes, the more we wanted to do it well, the more strange tones were uttered and made us laugh so loud that the teacher had to stop the recording and asked us to imagine the development of script with our eyes closed. After several practices in our minds, repeated instruction from teacher, and hard work by our team-members, we finally finished the recording job. Because of Global SchoolNet Cyber Fair, I had an unforgettable Sunday afternoon.
