¡@¡@In this project, the spokesperson of RT Mart, Ms. Mo-cheng He who is also the deputy manager of marketing division and PR division helps us a lot in explaining the operating strategies of RT Mart.

1.What are the contents of your job as a deputy manager of PR division?
A¡GMy job is to face mass media, such as receiving interviews from journalists and schools.

2.Which store of RT Mart is the largest one in Taiwan? Which store has the best business achievement?
A¡GNeihu Second Store is the largest one and it also has the best business achievement. The area of Neihu Second Store is 15,000 level ground and the annual business volume of it is around NT$ 4 billion. The general profit of Neihu Second Store is around 10% and online shopping service has been started since February 2009.

3.Will customers¡¦ purchasing intention be influenced since there are so many warehouses in Neihu redevelopment zone?
A¡GAlthough our number of stores is just a half of that in Carrefour, our business volume is 70% of that in Carrefour. It can be inferred that customers¡¦ loyalty to RT Mart is quite high since RT Mart has several advantages: there are various kinds of merchandise in our warehouses; customers have multiple choices in choosing the same kind of merchandise; customers can buy everything they want at one time; the shopping routes inside our warehouses are convenient; the space of the warehouse is large enough that many customers can get in; there are many parking spaces (1500 parking spaces for car and 500 parking spaces for motorcycles).

4.What are the characteristics of RT Mart Neihu Second Store?
A¡GIt provides more customers with merchandise of lowest prices; it holds more promotions to attract customers to buy more and create more business achievement.

5.Every holiday, the traffic around Neihu redevelopment zone will be congested, how doest RT Mart solve this problem?
A¡GRoadside parking is not allowed on weekends and holidays and some roads only allow one-way passage. RT Mart cooperates with other retailers in redevelopment zone to apply for traffic conduction from voluntary traffic guards and RT Mart also pays the fee of traffic conduction. Voluntary traffic guards will be assigned to important intersections to conduct the traffic flow at different time interval on weekends.

6.Is the business volume of typhoon days better?
A¡GYes. The business volume will be increased after the message of typhoon is announced and on typhoon days. We can still offer customers the lowest prices even on typhoon days. For example, the agricultural products we sell are directly purchased from the place of production rather than purchased from wholesale markets. The quality can be maintained as well since our suppliers in Yunlin will carefully examine the quality of their products.

7.Please talk about RT Mart¡¦ operating ideas of offering post services inside the warehouse.
A¡GRT Mart is the first warehouse that offers post services. It took us two years to negotiate with China Post. All the cashiers of post office are employees in RT Mart and they have been trained formally to provide services. The post services we offer are mainly payment services and the sending of letters and packages. No deposit service is offered here. The operating hours is 10 am to 10 pm. The post office will receive letters and packages till 4 pm.

Play the role of price killer
¡@¡@A ¡§price checking team¡¨ has been established in each store and this team has to check the merchandise prices in other warehouses everyday. Once price checking teams find that the prices of certain products in other warehouses are lower, RT Mart will change our prices to the same level and will bargain with our suppliers by using the prices of other warehouse as evidence. The role of ¡§price killer¡¨ is thoroughly played. Ms. Mo-cheng He also took us to the central promotion area, where the theme products, grape wine, were displayed. We carefully looked into prices although we did not know what price is reasonable. However, the charm of promotions could be revealed when we saw customers comparing prices here.
